When purchasing a pet, start small! You would not be used to having one, so choose one without a lot of responsibilities. A great starter pet could be a pet rock. They are very dependable and they will always be there for you, unless you lose it. Even if you do, you can always go outside and get a new one. You could also get a fish, because they are very inexpensive and easy to manage. Also, a big plus is that if they die, they are very easy to dispose of.

Seriously, you should talk to your parents or guardians about which pet would suit your family best. You have to keep in mind if people in your household have allergies and how much a pet is going to cost. If all goes well, you would probably be happy with some kind of mammal.
