Mandatory Swim -- Stop Complaining

Everyone wonders why we have to participate in a sport where we have to get wet and show our bodies. Not many students understand the importance of swimming, and how it helps our bodies. While swimming, we exercise most of our major muscles, and we even sweat. Most teenagers find this disgusting, but when we do, we can tell we are helping our bodies be healthier. It doesn’t even really matter, because the sweat just gets washed off. Some schools don’t teach swimming, because they can’t afford pools, or don’t have enough or have too many people. Take advantage of this, and be happy that we can actually swim.
Getting your hair wet and changing into a bathing suit, are worth the exercise. In gym class, you don’t have to get your hair wet. The swim coach got so sick of girls complaining, all we do is play games. This is a relaxer and helps us cool down. It’s so much fun; there shouldn’t be anyone complaining! Some girls don’t like bathing suits, that’s why they don’t swim. This is also illogical because they can wear shorts and a t-shirt! So, is it really worth failing gym class just not to get wet and have fun? I think not.
The only problem that is truly apparent in swimming at the middle school is being late to class. The gym teachers tell us that we are responsible for the use of our time limits and they refuse to give us passes. This outrages most students because we only get about six minutes to get dressed. Most girls can’t even do that when we have regular gym class! When we have wet hair and wet bodies, we should be allowed to have more time. Walking back up to the high school the long way takes about five minutes in itself! More than half the gym class is late to their classes!
Besides this minor problem that can be easily fixed, there is nothing wrong with swimming in gym class!
