JV Soccer Season
by Nathan Nourse, '11

Gloversville JV Soccer started in late August for two weeks of double sessions. Double sessions go from 8:00AM to 9:30AM and then again from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. The morning session is all about conditioning, conditioning, conditioning a.k.a. running. Traditionally, the evening session was for ball work and scrimmages, but this year it seemed to be more about “conditioning” than anything else.

The JV Soccer coach is Jay Hillabrandt. This year the team is almost all freshmen with some sophomores and a few juniors including Troy Kirk and me. We started off this season better than the soccer program thought with a record of 4-1 with the Stop DWI Cup under our possession and only losing to Glens Falls.

From then on, we beat Queensbury and Hudson Falls.  Then, we went on a six-game losing streak, dragging our record down to 4-7.  Lately though, it has been improving since we beat Glens Falls and tied Johnstown with a loss to South High in between.

Overall, we didn't win as many games as we would have liked, but we certainly had fun.
