Many students complain
about taking Spanish. Some say it will
not be of any use in the future, but they are wrong. Spanish students receive many benefits and
rewards for their efforts – some may even take part in a summer trip to

Spanish broadens students’ perspectives and opens minds, exposing them to other
cultures. She also says the language
will be useful outside of school and will sharpen students’ English skills as
well. Mrs. Catchpole is confident that
in some point in our lives, if not already, we will meet someone who speaks
Spanish.
According to Foreign
Language Department Head, Mrs. Fitzgerald, who has been a teacher for 21 years,
students do well in her class as long as they work hard. Her student teacher, Ms. Strano, believes students
should learn Spanish because there are 350 million Spanish speaking people in
the world – 34,818,000 in the
Spanish will be very
helpful in our future. It will impress
colleges and may enhance job opportunities.
Also, it will make us more aware of other cultures.
